On average 14 people a year die at work falling from ladders and nearly 1200 suffer major injuries. Ladders are the equipment in use when over a quarter of falls happen. Common causes of falls include; the user over-reaching, the user slipping from the rungs, and the ladder slipping and falling. Our operatives are part of the Window Cleaners Federation.

Is the way your existing cleaning contractor conducting their business going to see you and your business before a court of law YES!

In the wake of the Morecambe bay tragedy new laws have been passed to prevent the exploitation of vulnerable (migrant) workers by gang masters.

The new law has been warmly welcomed by the TUC, however trade unionists are lobbying the government to extend the duty of cover to other parts of industry. TUC general secretary Brendan Barber is calling for a comprehensive licensing scheme for employers in the cleaning industry along with others to improve conditions for vulnerable and (illegal) migrant workers.

Its is now illegal for labour providers in the farming and food processing sector to operate without a license, from the gang masters licensing authority (GLA) or face up to ten years imprisonment. As from the 1st December 2006 any company dealing with rogue operators could also end up in the dock!

Margaret Farrell the M.D of Farrell's Magiclean has been invited to aid the creation of new legislation in order to lessen the impact on industry by the CSSA. Due to Margaret's exemplary record in business management and matters in health and safety, the CSSA felt she would be an excellent candidate to help aid the legislation process.
